A stage reading is a form of theatre without sets or full costumes. The actors, who read from scripts, may be seated, stand in fixed positions, or incorporate minimal stage movement. Meeting Readings
Must have paid dues and been a member for 2 months
Script or portion of script should be no longer than 20 minutes
Writer required to provided Cast and Stage Manager for the Reading
Writer to provide copy of script for each Cast member and Stage Manager (recommended to provide prior to actual Reading for cast to review prior to Reading)
Notify VP of Readings prior to meeting of any cancellations
Theatre Suburbia Readings
Must have paid dues and been a member for 6 months
Script should be full length or two one acts can be scheduled totaling up to 2 hours.
Writer required to provide Cast, Stage Manager and Director and Moderator for the reading
Writer to provide copy of script for Cast, Director, and Stage Manager
Writer is to assist in finding music stands if needed
Script should have been Read aloud and edited prior to Reading at Theatre Suburbia
At least two rehearsals with cast and stage manager strongly suggested prior to the scheduled Reading at the Suburbia Theatre.
Writer is responsible for providing Snacks the day of the reading
