Invitation to a reading of “Caboose”
Scriptwriters/Houston and Theatre Suburbia invite you to a free reading of an exciting, mysterious, surreal, stylized, sometimes absurd and ultimately romantic two-act play, “Caboose,” written by S/H member Fernando Dovalina.

T
he play will be read at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 27, at Theatre Suburbia, 5201 Mitchelldale St., Suite A-3, Houston, TX 77092.
Synopsis: Two aging gay men find themselves stranded in a caboose of a moving freight train. They have no idea why they’re there; they don’t even know who they are, or if they know each other. They argue. They also flirt. Suddenly, the train stops, and they see two younger men in an apartment across the tracks. The younger men also see the older men, and the sense of mystery grows. The four men sense that they have something in common, but what?

Here are a few guidelines, all rules and submission info will be found on our website beginning March 29:

2. Scripts must be original, unproduced, new works. Readings are strongly suggested
before submission.

4. Scripts must be producible with the use of few technical requirements, set and props.
5. Scripts must contain 2-4 actors. Monologues are not accepted. Actors can portray more than one character.
6. Scripts must be complete, stand-alone works and not part of a larger piece.
7. SWH members with dues paid ($35 annually) are allowed to submit up to three (3) scripts. Nonpaid members may submit up to three (3) scripts at $10 (non-refundable) per script. If more than one script is chosen by the
